As a Certified EFT Practitioner I WILL . . .

A.   hold as the highest priority for my professional activities the health and welfare of my clients, students, and others with whom I become professionally involved. All other statements in this document are elaborations upon this principle.

B.   be fully committed to personal integrity, authenticity, and my own ongoing healing and wholesome development in body, mind, and spirit.

C.   strive for professional excellence through ongoing assessment of personal strengths, limitations, and effectiveness.

D.   conduct business and professional activities with integrity, in a professional, honest, and fair manner.

E.   abide by applicable local, state, and national laws governing my healthcare services.

F.   perform only those services for which I am qualified, representing my education, certifications, professional affiliations, and other qualifications accurately.

G.   keep current in my field and continually seek to expand my effectiveness as practitioners.

H.   not diagnose, prescribe, or treat medical disorders unless simultaneously credentialed to do so, making referrals to other health care professionals when and as appropriate.

I.   respect the inherent worth, dignity, and uniqueness of all people, and the rights of individuals to privacy, confidentiality, and self-determination.

J.   treat clients, students, and colleagues with respect and courtesy, communicating clearly and sensitively regarding issues that affect the services I provide.

K.   respect the professional status of other health care practitioners.

L.   resist gossip, but rather speak directly with other practitioners when concerns about my/their actions arise, making every effort to resolve differences or ethical issues in a frank, respectful, and wholesome manner.

M.   clearly and accurately inform potential clients of the nature and logistics of my potential services prior to the commencement of those services, appropriately documenting having done so.

N.   discuss with my clients in advance the limitations or potential problems associated with specific procedures before using them.

O.   uphold the confidentiality of those I serve, informing clients in advance of exceptions, such as legal proceedings that require disclosure and the obligation to disclose information that might prevent clear and imminent danger to the client or to others.

P.   build a collaborative relationship with those I serve.

Q. stay alert to factors that might impact the healing relationship, such as a client’s becoming overly dependent or being unable to pay for continued services, and generate, with the client, appropriate strategies for addressing such considerations.

R.   avoid dual relationships that might negatively impact the effectiveness of my services.

S.   be aware of the power differences inherent in the professional relationship and do not exploit them.

T.   never enter a sexual relationship with a client.

U.   be sensitive to the potential impact of having a special facility with subtle energies and use this facility only in a manner that is beneficial to the client and with the client’s consent.

V.   actively support my own health and resilience so I am at my best as a practitioner and I am modeling what I teach.

W.   keep written records as appropriate to my professional function and setting.

X.   seek to promote accuracy, honesty, truthfulness, and dignity in the practice, teaching, science, and art of energy healing and emotional freedom techniques.

Y.   clarify professional roles and obligations with clients and colleagues and manage conflicts of interest in a manner that avoids exploitation or harm.

Z.   keep my agreements and avoid unrealistic or unclear commitments.

AA.   when offering educational programs or presentations ensure that the goals of the program have been properly described, are appropriate for the intended audience, and that the program is run in a manner that accomplishes its stated goals.

BB.   when offering educational programs or presentations create a safe and supportive learning environment, prioritizing the welfare of students who participate in training exercises or who volunteer for demonstrations.

CC.   when offering educational programs take steps to ensure that graduates of said programs represent the training received appropriately and with an understanding of the limitations as well as the potentials of the skills developed.

DD.   contribute a portion of my professional time for little or no compensation.

EE.   demonstrate a personal commitment to acting ethically; to encouraging ethical behavior by students, supervisees, employees, and colleagues; and to consulting as appropriate with others and with their professional association’s code of ethics concerning ethical problems.

I will promote an awareness of ethics within the healthcare community, and I attest to my willingness to adhere to the full Ethics Code for Energy Healing Practitioners and its updates as posted on the Eden Energy Medicine Ethics Page at edenmethod.com/eden-energy-medicine-ethics-page.
