Only a handful of people attended my first EFT workshop, but we had a great time anyway and some important EFT tapping was accomplished.
I have a funny story to share about my first EFT workshop.
During the group EFT tapping I facilitated, I asked for volunteers who were willing to tap on an issue after we completed the Personal Peace Procedure. One of the attendees announced that she felt sick when she used EFT.
We decided to tap on this. I started with a normal EFT Setup Statement and asked her to rate her SUD Level of Intensity number from 0 – 10 with 10 being the worst. She rated her feelings about tapping making her sick at a 6 or 7 out of 10.
We tapped:
Even though I feel sick when I tap, I deeply and completely accept myself anyway. (3x).
Even though I feel sick when I tap, I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.
Even though I feel sick when I tap, I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.
After going through the tapping point sequence starting on the Karate Chop Point, then the points on the face, under the armpit, the collarbone, etc., the feeling of sickness dissipated for her and she felt the need to burp. I usually go through the tapping point sequence twice, sometimes three times. Her SUD Level of Intensity number began to decrease.
We tapped:
Even though I need to burp I deeply and completely accept myself.
Even though I need to burp, and it’s moving up my body, I deeply and completely let it go.
Even though I need to burp, I can burp! Let’s come out burp! And I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.
We tapped through the tapping point sequence again.
The burp ended up feeling higher in her stomache, but it was not releasing, so we tapped on the burp being at her throat, adding silly reframes about burping.
We went through the tapping point sequence and her SUD Level of Intensity number continued to fall, but still no burp. The attendee said, “This is ridiculous!”
So we tapped:
Even though I need to burp, and this is ridiculous, I can burp! Come on burp! Come out!
Even though I need to burp and this is ridiculous, I release this burp, I let it go and I deeply and completely accept myself, and my burp.
Even though I need to burp, I release it; I can burp, for the betterment of my body. And I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.
I remembered that in The EFT Manual, the under-the-eye point is tied into the stomach meridian. I lead her through tapping again on the eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, nose, and we were about to reach the chin when she finally burped. She let out the largest burp I had ever heard!
It was really funny and we all laughed.
It was a great success and the group loved it. The best part is that now she doesn’t feel sick anymore when she uses EFT.
