I believe that all the experiences we go through in life are preparing us for the next step. So, how does a twenty-five year career law enforcement officer, mother, and grandmother of two become a hypnotherapist? My first experience with hypnosis, that I was aware of, was when my daughter told me she wanted to use hypnosis for the birth of her first child. Having been a doula for several years, I decided to become certified to teach parents how to use hypnosis during childbirth. It was then I realized how powerful our minds are and how we can use hypnosis to effect so many changes in our lives. Through my law enforcement career, I bring the experience of being a first-responder and understand the impact that the stresses of our job has on us both mentally and physically. As a facilitator for a sergeants” leadership course and student of neuro-lingustic programming, I have a deep understanding of how the manner in which we use our language affects our thinking. I also bring the experience of a being childbirth doula and seeing the awesomeness of the use of hypnosis in birth, including the two beautiful births of my grandchildren. I received my hypnotherapy training and certification through Hypnosis 2000, taught by Teresa Van-Zeller. Teresa originally certified me as a hypnosis for childbirth practitioner over six years ago. She has since created B.A.N.I., which I am also certified a practitioner. I am a certified member with the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA) and National Guild of Hypnotist, Inc. (NGH). I received medical and dental hypnosis training through the Hypnosis Practitioner Training Institute (HPTI). As a continual learner, I am always studying and training to increase my knowledge, skills, and abilities. I am currently studying NLP to certify as a Life Coach through Life Potential Developments. I am a member of NLP Golden Standards Association and a certified Clinical EFT Practitioner.
