Use EFT Nightly to Address What Happened in Your DayI Can Do It® 2015 Calendar: 365 Daily Affirmations

Dear EFT Community,

EFT practitioner, Ruth Lembo, shares a daily technique she uses and has taught her clients to use to prevent adding to a lifetime accumulation of upsetting or troublesome events: daily tapping on the events of the day. Some call this practicing "energy hygiene," that is, taking steps to keep one's energy field as clear as possible.

This is an EFT oriented technique that I have been doing myself and with clients for some time, and it is proving to be very useful. It simply adds a little more structure to the Personal Peace Procedure.

As we go about our day-to-day business, we often suppress and ignore things that really bug us. We push them to the back of our minds, perhaps because we are too busy to tap there and then, but often because we do not even recognize that we are doing it.

We are assailed by such a myriad of environmental stimuli, and so much of it is dealt with at a subconscious level, that we cannot remain aware of it all, all the time. And thus important issues that we should really be tapping on can slip through the net. I suggest using this technique in the evening, making time to spend a few minutes in quiet contemplation.

Step 1: Take a deep breath and say aloud, "I deeply and completely accept everything that has happened to me today."

This statement will immediately bring to mind anything that you have NOT accepted and anything that you are still having resistance to.

When you have identified it, then begin to tap as usual until you have reduced the negative feelings to 0.

Step 2: Take another deep breath and repeat the acceptance statement. Should more resistance to the events of the day surface, then deal with it in the same way.

This technique can be used in the same way at the end of each week or at the end of any segment, for example, a holiday or a school term.

This method is a great way of using the "tail-ender" phenomenon. By stating complete acceptance FIRST, the arguing voice of the tail-ender proves very helpful as a guide to where tapping needs to focus!

The approach can also be used to work on deeper core issues.

The statement in this case is: "I deeply and completely accept everything that has ever happened to me in my whole life."

This will reveal resistance to past events that can then be tapped for. Many of these issues would likely benefit from working with a partner or practitioner.

It is a continuing joy to be working with EFT and sharing in the transformation of lives.
