Q: Are there prerequisites for the workshops?
A: There are no Prerequisites for the 1 day Introductory Experiential Workshops.
The Prerequisite for the 4 day Professional Workshops is the Free online Seminar. Here is the TheEFTSeminar.com
The prerequisites for the 2 day Practice Intensive workshop are:
#1. The 4 day Professional workshop.
#2. Being a Practitioner Candidate by having your complete application on file with us.
#3. EFT Universe Certified Practitioners can take this workshop for Renewal or Review.
Q: What’s the difference between the 4 day Professional Workshop and the 2 day Practice Intensive Workshop?
A: The EFT Live 4 Day Professional Workshop comprises 16 learning modules that steadily build your EFT skills, as described in The EFT Manual (3rd Edition). You’ll also gain deeper explanations of the key methods of Clinical EFT. You’ll receive step-by-step instruction in the core concepts of EFT. Research shows that the modular nature of the training, with each module building on the skills learned in the previous module, results in through understanding of how to practice EFT. The classes also include exercises to build your skill and confidence. At each EFT workshop you attend, you’ll receive over 8 hours of hands-on demonstrations, supervise exercises, guidance and feedback from certified EFT Expert Trainers.
The 2 Day Practice Intensive Workshop happens after one has taken the 4 Professional workshop and after the one has become a Practitioner Candidate (by sending in their application). The candidate will have already begun working on sessions and cases that are being reviewed by the mentor. This 2 Day Practicum workshop will enhance one’s knowledge and experience of skills learned in the 4 Professional workshop. This is achieved through demonstrations, role play and drills, that focus on developing competence and confidence with important EFT techniques.
Q: Why are there some workshops listed for 5 nights and 5 days?
A: Retreat and Immersion Learning Centers like Omega in New York and 1140 Multiversity in California, have accommodations for participants to stay on their campuses. They also have supplemental programs being offered. These include yoga, meditation and massage, plus outdoor trails for leisure walking or hiking. There are more breaks throughout the day at these locations to enjoy the amenities and relax. The workshops start Sunday night for an orientation and a shared meal, plus it helps everyone be on time to the early morning workshops. The workshops end on Friday afternoon.
Q: Are you certified in EFT after you’ve taken a workshop?
A: No. Completion of the 4 Professional Workshop plus the 2 day Practice Intensive Workshop is required for certification. There are a number of other requirements which you can find here.
Q: Are CE/CME credits available to medical and mental health professionals?
A: Yes. Clinical EFT is regarded as an evidence-based practice, and CE/CME credits are available for taking these classes. CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits are available for medical professionals such as doctors (American Medical Association) and nurses (American Nurses Credentialing Commission), and CE (Continuing Education) credits for mental health professionals such as psychologists (APA), social workers (NASWB) and psychotherapists. You can find full information about credits here. https://www.eftuniverse.com/certification/accreditation-information
Q: Why are there 2 different symbols for workshops offering CE/CME credit?
A: Credits are of two types, Category A (indicated by the § symbol) and Category B (indicated by the ¶ symbol). Find details here.

Q: Can taking an EFT workshop take the place of mental health care or medical care?
A: No. While workshop participants may feel a release of stress due to the benefits of EFT, these workshops are designed as learning experiences training participants to get the most out of EFT. We recommend you work on minor emotional issues during the workshops rather than major ones that can distract you from the learning process. Workshops are intended for learning EFT and are not intended as therapy or treatment or as a replacement for therapy or treatment. If you are suffering from a medical or psychological diagnosis, we recommend that you remain under the care of your primary care provider and seek their advice before attending EFT or any other personal growth workshop.
Q: I’ve watched YouTube videos and have attended the annual Tapping World Summit. Can I substitute this experience for: the 1-Day Introductory Workshop, the 4-Day Professional workshop or the 2 Day Practice Intensive, instead of meeting the prerequisites?
A: While these other sources can give you valuable experience of EFT, they are not substitute for a live workshop. You’ll find you learn EFT in a great deal more depth in the interactive immersion experience of Live workshops.
Q: A while back I took a workshop by a trainer not certified by EFT Universe. Do these workshops count toward certification?
A: No. There are hundreds of workshops offered each year by a wide variety of practitioners and trainers. They differ widely in quality and content. The EFT Universe workshops are taught by certified trainers, use a single common curriculum, and meet the high standards of Clinical EFT.
Q: What’s unique about Clinical EFT?
A: The term “Clinical EFT” refers to the “evidence-based” method that has been validated in research studies that meet the requirements of the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 12 Task Force on Empirically Validated Treatments. One of the 7 “essential” Division 12 criteria is that the method be described in a written manual. Clinical EFT is based on the method as defined in The EFT Manual and supplementary materials. The first edition of The EFT Manual appeared online in 1995, with a print edition in 2008 and the current edition in 2013. The manual is supplemented by an extensive collection of case histories and commentary found on this site. Some 48 distinct techniques are described in this body of knowledge. Clinical EFT has been validated by numerous studies in which EFT has been delivered with fidelity to The EFT Manual.
Q: Why is the research important?
A: In the The 4 Day Professional workshop you’ll have the confidence of knowing that you’re being trained in a method backed by over 100 clinical trials. This research has demonstrated that Clinical EFT works quickly and effectively for phobias, PTSD, anxiety, depression, pain, and many other conditions. A current bibliography of this research is maintained at EFT Universe, as well as a full description of the APA standards for evidence-based methods. Training and certification offered by EFT Universe conforms to the standards of Clinical EFT.
