What was most valuable to me about this program is the mentoring process. While I love all the study materials, it’s really priceless to have a certified practitioner – a mentor, a trainer – give you extensive feedback on your work over the course of many months with one-on-one meetings and skills practice calls. All of those life trainings have incredible value.”

TESTIMONIAL

“ I chose EFT Universe because the other EFT programs and tapping resources weren’t as comprehensive. I had tried YouTube tapping and followed affirmations with others, but I didn’t experience true healing. EFT Universe helped me stop waking up and going to bed with anxiety. This certification changed my life by allowing me to offer EFT in my own coaching. Before discovering EFT, I was a yoga teacher and did some social media consulting on the side. I knew my passion was in helping people achieve change from the inside out. Adding EFT to my existing services has enabled me to produce results in a much shorter timeframe than before. ”

FAQ

Most Frequent Questions and Answers

Certification is a complete and comprehensive training package, and you can take it whether or not you’re a professional. About half of those who become certified are licensed medical or mental health professionals. The other half are from all walks of life, and many are retraining for a new and satisfying career in energy healing.

You don’t need to be a medically or psychologically trained professional to take the Ultimate EFT Certification course or to add it to your toolkit. We’ve found that people encounter all kinds of issues when working with clients, regardless of whether they’re coaches, medically trained, or psychologically trained. In this certification program, we provide the background and tools needed to address a wide range of issues.

While this is a standalone course, and you may still collaborate with medical or mental health professionals, we ensure that you understand the ethics, mental health conditions, and limitations regarding who you should and shouldn’t work with. This program gives you a complete package from start to finish, equipping you to practice EFT successfully without needing to be a licensed medical or mental health professional.

Each of the 12 multimedia modules includes audio, video, and written content — so you can use whichever learning style works best for you.

Some workshops are offered virtually, with this noted in the workshop description. Others, such as the 4 Day Professional Training, are offered both in-person and virtually.

EFT Universe uses a virtual training model called “active learning.” Research shows that classes using this model produce better student comprehension than conventional lectures (Deslauriers, McCarty, Miller, Callaghan & Kestin, 2019). EFT Universe has pioneered “best practices” for virtual learning to ensure that the class experience provides optimal engagement and comprehension for students.

Very definitely. Over 50 studies show that the EFT techniques you’ll learn in this course result in big reductions in stress. When you become an EFT practitioner, you can use your knowledge to improve your life — and the lives of your clients.

If you would like to sample the certification program before enrolling, you can take the first four modules in two groups. Modules 1 and 2 are available together, at a discount, in an online program called Self-Transformative Energy Tools.

Modules 3 and 4 are available in a second online program called Transforming Lives with Energy Coaching.

The most cost-effective approach is to sign up for the certification program as a whole at the beginning.

However, if you’d like to take Self-Transformative Energy Tools and Transforming Lives with Energy Coaching first, you will get credit for these should you enroll later.

Because we believe these tools are so powerful and we’d like to see them in the hands of everyone, we’ve made the certification as affordable as possible with multiple payment plan options. We are not able to offer further discounts or scholarships.

We make this easy by providing you with session notes forms and a detailed outline of how to complete a case history.

We want you to get as much experience with as many different clients as possible, though you might work with certain clients over the course of several sessions. If you’re planning to do more than five sessions with a particular client, check with your mentor first.

Yes. If you are a Certified EFT Practitioner through AAMET, ACEP, EFT International or Emofree, you have met many of the requirements, and can grandparent into the Ultimate EFT Certification program. Follow the grandparenting instructions here

We assign you a mentor when you’re ready to submit your first batch of case histories. Your mentor is assigned to you by your education director.

Mentoring starts when you’ve completed the online courses and live training.

All of our mentors are certified Clinical EFT practitioners through our program. They are experts who will guide you as you work through your practice clients.

Your mentor will review and give you feedback on each of the four sets of 10 case histories that you write. Your mentor will also help guide you as you work through the unhealed parts of your past. Your skills will progress steadily, as your practice is developed through your mentor’s personalized feedback.

Students who commit to 2-3 lessons per week (approximately 3-6 hours per week) typically finish within the required 12-month timeline. Some students finish in as fast as 7-8 months.

Each lesson is the equivalent of reading a dense chapter of a book, watching a supporting set of videos and audios, and then taking a quiz. Once you reach the mentoring modules, the lessons include written practicum.

If you pass the 12-month mark from your initial enrollment, you automatically get a free 6-month extension. If you need time beyond that, you can purchase a second 6-month extension for $500.

All of the work you have completed in getting certified in EFT counts toward Energy Psychology Certification. You can enroll in Energy Psychology Certification after you graduate from EFT Certification. It is offered once or twice a year.

When taking an EFT Universe-sponsored workshop, you use a discount code. You register on the EFT Universe site and there is no cost to you.

If you choose a workshop sponsored by another organization like Omega Institute, CIIS or 1440 Multiversity, not by EFT Universe, you register and pay that organization. You’re then reimbursed for your tuition cost by EFT Universe after the workshop.

Either way, the cost of the workshop is included in certification and there is no additional cost to you.

Energy Psychology and EFT professionals are expected to practice with awareness of the diverse backgrounds of the clients with whom they work, and to engage clients with cultural humility and competence.

Among the cultural considerations for working with diverse populations are language barriers; religious beliefs and family values; community beliefs and practices; cultural attitudes to gender and age; cultural conceptions of health and illness; issues related to ethnic assimilation and cultural preservation; and attitudes toward women, children, individuals identifying as LGBTQ, and elders.
Research shows that EFT is able to release emotional triggers quickly. This makes it uniquely suitable for use when approaching charged issues including ethnicity, bias, and unconscious stereotyping.

A diverse working group of EFT practitioners has engaged the practitioner community in a dialog about the need for ethnic and cultural awareness during treatment sessions. Their educational perspectives are found on the Practitioner Development page.

No. This is an academic course, like a college semester, for which you commit to completion. For this reason, no refunds are possible after you begin. We recommend that you speak with an admission advisor prior to enrolling if you are not 100 percent certain about your commitment.

We recommend that you take a look at our support page to see if we cover your question. If not, you can contact us through the form on the page.

Our Self Transformative Energy Tools course teaches you the fundamentals of energy healing (and is Module 1-2 of the full practitioner certification). We recommend starting here if you are ready to focus on your personal growth, but aren’t quite ready to become a practitioner.

If you decide to upgrade to the Ultimate EFT Certification after taking Self Transformative Energy Tools, you’ll get a discount off your certification enrollment.

EFT certification enhances the skills you already use in your profession. For example, if you’re a life coach, you’re trained to help clients using various coaching techniques. By adding EFT to your toolkit, you gain a powerful method to help clients overcome obstacles that traditional coaching might not address. Whether it’s early childhood issues, subconscious blocks, or chronic conditions, EFT allows you to clear these barriers effectively.

For professionals like dietitians, school teachers, chiropractors, yoga and meditation instructors, or functional medicine experts, integrating EFT into your practice enriches the work you do. If you’re a therapist trained in methods like psychodynamic or Gestalt therapy, adding EFT can significantly enhance your clients’ results, helping you to address deeper issues and achieve faster, more impactful outcomes.

Complex PTSD is incredibly challenging to treat with conventional methods, especially since it often stems from ongoing abuse or trauma that occurred early in childhood when the brain was still developing. This deep-rooted trauma can have a profound impact on a person’s entire life, making it difficult to address with standard approaches.

In this Clinical EFT training, we recognize the complexities of working with patients who have complex PTSD. That’s why we equip the EFTU practitioners with specialized tools designed specifically for these cases. These techniques are sophisticated yet straightforward, allowing you to effectively address deeply entrenched trauma.

Our training includes modules—both live and online—that focus on these body-based methods, drawing on insights from experts like Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, who highlights the lasting impact of trauma on the body in his bestseller The Body Keeps the Score. With Clinical EFT, you’ll gain the depth of training needed to help patients with complex PTSD, making it one of the few methods truly capable of addressing such profound trauma.

EFT could be beneficial for individuals with severe mental disorders like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but it’s important to note that it’s not a cure. From the case histories done by  the EFTU practitioners, EFT primarily helps manage symptoms, particularly anxiety and depression.

For example, a social worker in Baltimore works with unhoused individuals, many of whom have been diagnosed with one or both of these conditions. While she doesn’t report any miracle cures, she does notice that her clients become less anxious after learning to tap. This reduction in anxiety often leads to improved functionality in their daily lives.

So, while EFT may not cure severe mental disorders, it can be a valuable tool in alleviating some of the associated symptoms, making life a bit more manageable for those affected.

EFT can be beneficial for a range of conditions, including autism and cognitive decline. Here’s how it can help:

Autism: EFT has shown promise in alleviating symptoms associated with autism, such as anxiety and challenging behaviors. There are inspiring stories of children on the autism spectrum who have benefited from EFT. For example, a case from Brazil reported that after using EFT, a child initially diagnosed with autism was later deemed by a doctor to be fine. While EFT may not offer a complete cure, it can significantly reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. However, it’s important to recognize that EFT should be used alongside other medical and therapeutic interventions.

Cognitive Decline (Dementia and Alzheimer’s): For individuals with cognitive decline, such as those with dementia or Alzheimer’s, EFT may provide some symptom relief and improve emotional well-being. While it is not a cure, there are case studies where EFT has helped manage symptoms and improve cognitive function temporarily. For example, a case in Texas involved a woman using EFT to calm her mother with advanced Alzheimer’s, resulting in a brief restoration of cognitive clarity.

EFT is not a substitute for medical care but can be a valuable tool in managing symptoms and enhancing overall well-being. It’s particularly useful when integrated with other treatments and interventions. For best results, it is advisable to use EFT early in the disease process and in conjunction with professional medical care.

EFT’s effectiveness across a wide range of mental and physical conditions might seem surprising at first. Dawson Church was initially skeptical when a therapist friend of his told him that he was using EFT not only with veterans for flashbacks and nightmares but also to help people improve their golf swings. It didn’t make sense that one form of therapy could address such diverse issues. However, what was later learned is that the common thread in all these conditions is stress.. Whether it’s affecting your golf game, contributing to depression, or triggering anxiety, stress plays a key role. When you use EFT, the tapping process helps calm the emotional center of the brain—the limbic system—which in turn reduces stress. This reduction in stress can lead to improvements in everything from physical performance to mental health conditions like PTSD and phobias.

As for the research behind EFT, there’s an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its efficacy. With over 100 studies published in peer-reviewed journals across multiple countries and languages, EFT is one of the most well-researched therapy methods available. The training at EFT Universe has met the rigorous standards set by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Psychological Association (APA), and for over a decade, this courses have been approved for Continuing Medical Education credits. This extensive research and official recognition underscore just how powerful and versatile EFT can be.

In 2017, EFT was officially recognized by the VA as a ‘generally safe therapy.’ This means there are now no obstacles to using EFT within the VA. It’s even listed on the VA’s website as a generally safe therapy, so you can go ahead and incorporate it into your work with veterans.

In 2024, one VA hospital reached out to EFT Universe to teach EFT to their therapists.

Health insurance companies do not reimburse specifically for EFT sessions. Instead, they reimburse for stress reduction sessions. Typically, therapists, nurses, or doctors use codes related to stress reduction when submitting claims for reimbursement. These codes can include activities such as teaching EFT or tapping, meditation, breathing exercises, or spending time in nature. So, while EFT itself is not directly reimbursed, it falls under the broader category of stress reduction, which is covered by health insurance companies.

Yes, the Ultimate EFT Certification is recognized internationally. Many of the EFTU students now work across borders, providing EFT to clients around the world. For example, one of the practitioners based in Canada successfully works with clients in Vietnam, coordinating across different time zones effectively.

Insurance for EFT practitioners is affordable globally, often costing only a few hundred dollars per year. Practitioners are required to have liability insurance, which is typically inexpensive due to the low-risk nature of EFT practice and the comprehensive training.

Additionally, this course is accredited by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Psychological Association (APA), and these high standards are recognized by many countries including the UK, Germany, France, Mexico, and Canada. This broad acceptance underscores the global applicability of the certification.

Starting a new business can be daunting, especially if it’s your first time.  The Ultimate EFT Certification program supports you in several key ways:

  1. Mindset and Emotional Support: We address the fears and uncertainties that come with starting something new. Through recorded videos and live sessions, you’ll tap on any anxieties or mindset barriers you may have about setting up your business.
  2. Practical Business Training: The program includes a comprehensive branding and marketing course to help you build your practice. You’ll also work with practice clients during the certification, which can lead to real paying clients.
  3. Real-Life Success Stories: For instance, one of the EFTU graduates, Christina, started working with young mothers and quickly expanded her practice from one client to a large number. Another graduate, Carolina, found that she was so busy seeing clients that she didn’t have time to focus on branding—an indication of a thriving practice.

By the end of the certification, you’ll have the skills, support, and practical experience to start and grow your own EFT practice successfully.

EMDR is a highly effective therapy, and over the past 25 years, EMDR and EFT have evolved together, with methods that often complement each other. While EMDR is used by licensed mental health professionals in a controlled therapeutic setting, EFT offers valuable self-help techniques that clients can use on their own. By integrating EFT with EMDR, therapists can provide clients with tools they can use outside of sessions to continue their healing journey.

For example, therapists at Fort Hood used EMDR during sessions and taught clients EFT as a self-help method for use between appointments. Combining both approaches can enhance the overall effectiveness of treatment and empower clients to manage their own emotional well-being.While EMDR is a well-established therapeutic method used by licensed professionals in a clinical setting, EFT offers a valuable self-help tool that clients can use outside of therapy sessions.

By learning EFT, you provide your clients with an additional tool to manage their emotions and stress independently, complementing the work done through EMDR and enhancing overall treatment effectiveness.
